Outdoor Education is a means of achieving the Desired Outcomes of Education through guided direct experience in the outdoors. The Outdoor Education Unit’s main roles include firstly, enhancing the awareness and acceptance of Outdoor Education as an integral part of the school curriculum. Secondly, we enhance the competencies of teachers involved in outdoor programmes in schools through the conduct of courses and creating meaningful outdoor experiences. Thirdly, we collaborate, network and build “bridges” with stakeholders to share best practices.
