The Breakfast Epiphanies@TN Awards 2004 also saw the launch
of a book titled “Teach to Inspire, Inspire to Teach”.
The book comprises of a collection of personal statements
and stories of the 12 finalists of the President’s Award
for Teachers (PAT) 2004. A copy was presented to each
of the 12 President Teachers’ Award (PAT) finalists.
The awardees and guests at the ceremony also received
a copy each and 2 copies of the publication were given
to each school subsequently. New beginning teachers would
also be presented a copy during their Induction Programme
organised by Teachers Network.
PAT awardee, Mrs Shahul Hameed from Compassvale Secondary
School hopes that “the stories will be a good source of
motivation for the younger and beginning teachers especially.”
PAT finalist, Mr Bong Raymond Kenneth from Rosyth School
is happy as the publication is a “good way to inform teachers
of the contributions made by their colleagues and the
difference they have made to the lives of their students.”
Another PAT finalist, Ms Ow Yeong Wai Mang from Henry
Park Primary School remarks, “It is very heartwarming
to read about what my fellow colleagues in education have
done for their pupils. It motivates me to do more for
mine too. I've got a lot to learn from all of them.” |
