Rosyth: Aesthetics Programme
-
Over the years, Rosyth has carved a name for itself in aesthetics. Its choir and Chinese orchestra have consistently achieved the gold award in the Singapore Youth Festival.

The choir won the accolade “Choir of the Year” in 2004, while the Chinese Orchestra won the title “Chinese Orchestra of the Year” in 2002 and 2004. Both groups were even invited to perform at numerous community events and were featured in MediaCorp’s programmes.

But the school is not content just to have some pupils gaining recognition. It wants to promote music and arts appreciation to all its pupils such that they will leave school with skills in both the performing and visual arts. That is why it introduced a structured and integrated aesthetics programme to its pupils from Pri 1 to Pri 6.

The programme comprises three components:
A comprehensive Art and Music curriculum at different levels;
An assembly programme to expose pupils to different forms of performing arts; and
CCAs and enrichment programmes that cater to pupils' interests and develop their talents.

Uses of the Grant
The grant will be used to provide training for teachers, voice and music enrichment programmes for pupils at various levels, and the purchase of musical instruments.
