| “The principle goal of education
is to create men who are capable of doing new things, not simply
of repeating what other generations have done - men who are
creative, inventive and discoverers.” |
|
DIRECTOR-GENERAL
of Education, Miss Seah Jiak Choo, began her message at the
MOE Teachers’ Day Celebrations with this quote from Jean Piaget.
This, she said, is what we are striving to do as members of
the Education Service — “to nurture a future generation with
diverse talents through inculcating in them the spirit of innovation
and enterprise.”
She strongly urged all teachers and officers at MOE HQ to make
the time and effort to develop their own passions and strive
to achieve their own personal goals in life. This will, in turn,
enable them to bring a new vigour to their role in inspiring
students.
